MSIG launches TravelEasy Flex, an affordable travel insurance that can be tailored to policyholder's needs
Study reveals travellers’ top priorities when buying travel insurance
SINGAPORE - 1 April 2025 - MSIG Singapore has unveiled its latest travel insurance offering, TravelEasy Flex, in response to its recent study to identify the top coverage priorities for travellers. Consistent across the respondents of different generations, these top coverage priorities were overseas medical expenses, flight delays, lost or stolen luggage, personal accidents and option to cancel for any reason. The study also highlighted a trending preference for more personalised and budget-friendly travel insurance solutions.
Recognising these needs, MSIG has introduced TravelEasy Flex, an innovative travel insurance solution designed to offer both affordability and flexibility, starting from just $9[1]. With an array of customisable options, TravelEasy Flex is set to redefine the way travellers experience insurance.
Key Features and Benefits
Available in three Comprehensive Plans: TravelEasy Flex offers three distinct plans, each with varying insured limits to suit different travel needs. With over 30 benefits included, travellers can enjoy peace of mind knowing they are well-protected.
Customisable Add-Ons: Customers can personalise their coverage with optional add-ons, allowing them to tailor their policies to fit their unique requirements and save on premiums by only paying for the coverage they need.
Group Cover Discounts: TravelEasy Flex provides special discounts for groups of three or more travellers, making it an ideal choice for relatives and friends travelling together. Additionally, lower premiums are available for child cover, ensuring comprehensive protection for the whole family.
Enhanced Delayed Departure Benefit: Unlike traditional policies, TravelEasy Flex offers a Delayed Departure benefit payable for every four-hour delay, instead of the usual six hours. This feature ensures travellers are compensated more quickly and efficiently.
Optional Add-Ons
Cancel for Any Reason: Up to $6,000 for loss of travel, accommodation, and entertainment ticket expenses if the policyholder chooses to cancel the trip for any reason.
Adventure and Sports: Covers leisure sports and outdoor activities undertaken during one’s vacation, including loss or damage to sports equipment to this optional cover.
Pre-existing Medical Condition: Up to $350,000 for emergency medical treatment at the hospital and medical evacuation due to pre-existing health issues while abroad.
Rental Vehicle: Up to $2,600 for car rental cancellation charges, damage excess, and return of the rental car due to sickness or injury.
Golfer's Cover: Up to $2,300 for accidental loss or damage to own or hired golf equipment, unused green fees, and hole-in-one celebrations.
COVID-19 Cover: Pays for cancellation or disruption of the trip and overseas medical expenses due to COVID-19.
Steven Leong, Senior Vice President of Retail Distribution, MSIG Singapore: "We've observed that customers prefer customising their travel insurance and paying for only what they need. TravelEasy Flex appeals to the modern travellers seeking flexibility and value for money. With over 10 million trips[2] made by Singaporeans last year alone, TravelEasy Flex will cater to the diverse needs of today's travellers, providing excellent options for protecting their journeys."
To celebrate the launch, MSIG is offering an introductory discount of 60% on TravelEasy Flex single trip plans and 25% on annual plans, valid from 1 to 30 April 2025.
[1] The premium is quoted based on a 1-day trip to an ASEAN country under the Standard Flex plan and includes a promotional 60% discount.
