Russian arrivals to Phuket rose from approximately 400,000 in 2022 to 821,000 in 2023, surpassing 1 million in 2024 and reaching an estimated 1.1 million in 2025. Nationwide, more than 1.4 million Russians visited Thailand in 2023, increasing to 1.74 million in 2024 and accounting for roughly 15% of Russia's outbound travel. Since 2022, Russia has ranked among Phuket's largest source markets, with visitor numbers quadrupling over three years.

During periods of geopolitical uncertainty, Thailand has consistently attracted families seeking a secure and internationally connected environment. The opening of the Russian Consulate in Phuket in 2023 further underscored the scale and permanence of the Russian community on the island.
Direct air links between Russia and Phuket operate year-round, with four to six flights daily during the winter high season and two to three per day in the low season, ensuring convenient and reliable access.
